She moved to Gainesville, Florida in 1971 and has been painting Central Florida scenes since that time. She is a well known member of the art community in Gainesville, exhibiting in local shows and volunteering in the Arts in Medicine program at Shands at AGH. Lissa Friedman has been painting since she was a small child. She began studying art at the Art Students League in N.Y. at the age of 10. She received a B.A. in art from C.W. Post College in N.Y., and then went on to do Post Baccalaureate work at the San Francisco Art Institute; she also has a Ph. D.in Art Therapy from Florida State University. Cynthia Pagel was born in Michigan and then raised in Alachua County, Florida from the age of 11 where she grew to enjoy the beaches, springs, and forests. In 1990 she earned an A.A. in Graphic Design from Santa Fe Community College and a B.A. in Fine Art from the University of Florida in 2003. She athletically pursues the outdoors, fostering to her muse - landscape. Working in printmaking, painting, and stained glass, her imagery illustrates the rapture, peak, and danger of our natural environment. |
